Our Mission
Olympic Cascade
Aquatics strives to promote swimming as a lifetime sport to its
member families and the community, and provide a comprehensive
development program for its members to pursue and achieve their
competitive potential at the highest possible level in the
sport.
OCA is a coach-owned USA Swimming
program that works closely in association with the Mercerwood Shore
Club (MSC), the Mercer Island Country Club (MICC) and its
non-profit volunteer Booster Association.

STAFF
OCA’s coaching staff brings
unparalleled levels of knowledge and experience to the
team.
Head Coach: John
Walker
John has reached the pinnacle of the sport as a member of
USA Swimming’s staff at the 2000 Olympic Games
in
Sydney
and at the
2004 Olympic Games in
Athens
. He brings
this world class experience to all ages of swimmers on
OCA.
Regional and Novice Coach: Alice
Godfred
Alice
has coached many levels of the sport from
summer league to club swimming. She offers swimmers invaluable
experience and inspires them to swim to their
potential.
Age Group Coach: Peter
Leonhardt
Peter brings his years of experience as both a coach and
a teacher to the youngest members of our team. Peter inspires
his swimmers to work hard and achieve their
goals.
Developmental Coach: Henry
Hudson
Henry enjoyed an outstanding career as a swimmer
for
University
of
Washington
and then
returned home to
New York
to graduate
school and coach both age group and college swimmers. Henry is now an assistant Coach with
Seattle
University
and shares his enthusiasm for the
sport with young OCA swimmers.
Columbia
Athletic Club:

Dolan
Perry has a long
history as a successful swimming coach and senior swimmer. He shares his vast knowledge of the sport
coaching the Novice and Age Group swimmers at Columbia Athletic
Club (at
Pine
Lake
)

Convenient Pool
Locations
Headquartered on Mercer Island, OCA
pools are centrally located and easy to access from I-90 and
I-405. Practices are held at the Mercerwood Shore Club and the
Mercer Island Country Club. Pools are open-air in the
spring/summer, and covered in the fall/winter making the facilities
conducive to training 12 months of the year.

United Team
OCA is a cohesive group of swimmers
and parents with a deep connection to the community. Even
though our team is new, we are enthusiastic supporters of our
coaches, and are enthusiastically involved in creating a successful
program that will enrich the lives of all who are a part of
